Aishwarya is a development economist with a keen interest in questions of gender, labour and finance. She recently completed her PhD in Economics, where her study examined the dynamics of women’s time-use and social location in India. Prior to joining Global 50/50, she was at Liverpool John Moores University as part of the British Academy-funded Times of A Just Transition project, researching how time pressures impact people’s approaches to sustainability. Previously, she worked as a consultant with the International Development Economics Associates (IDEAs) Network, Feminist Policy Collective, and Institute of Social Studies Trust. Aishwarya aims to consistently foreground intersectional feminist narratives in her research and writing, and has published international peer-reviewed journal articles, reports and online articles, exploring diverse issues within the broad area of gender and development.
