Global Health 50/50 Report 2018

The 2018 Report – the first of its kind – provides an in-depth look at the extent to which the organisations understand, define, programme, resource, and monitor gender.

Landmark report on gender in global health

The first Global Health 50/50 Report provides a comprehensive review of the gender-related policies of more than 140 major organisations working in and influencing global health.

The initiative is focused at the intersection of the Sustainable Development Goals on health, gender equality, inequalities and inclusive societies and institutions.

The report provides a benchmark across the sector to catalyse shifts in organisational culture and practice, adoption of gender-responsive policies, and adequate resourcing for programmes focused on the gendered dynamics of global health.

The approach of Global Health 50/50 is in line with the 2030 Agenda in making explicit the interdependence of the SDGs and—as a joint initiative of researchers and policy-makers from all sectors and regions—in showing the power of partnership. I urge the global health community to reflect on the findings presented and to act to improve practice.
Amina J. Mohammed, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General
