In April 2026, Global 50/50 convened a roundtable of gender justice leaders on the margins of Women Deliver in Naarm (Melbourne), hosted at Studio 5 with Project Everyone. The discussion was held under Chatham House Rule.
In a global context where opposition to gender justice is increasingly organised and long-term, the ability to align across institutions and movements will be decisive. The question now is how we collectively carry these forward. In response to this, the session identified three priority action areas – strategic infrastructure, alliance-building and resource deployment – pointing to a shift from reactive, fragmented efforts towards a more coordinated and intentional approach.
Where next?
This convening was one of four held over 2026, bringing together more than 150 gender justice leaders – from grassroots women's rights organisations to multilateral agencies – alongside a survey of the field. Together, they resulted in The organised many: a gender justice agenda for action, which sets out five priority actions for the years ahead.
